Visitor Guide

First time here? Don't worry, just follow these steps.

Your First Visit

The temple has already offered incense for you. Simply put your palms together and make your wish.

  1. On the first floor, greet Baosheng Dadi first: your name, your pet's name and where you live.
  2. Tell him how your pet is doing, one thing at a time.
  3. If you have a question for the gods, use the moon blocks. Pets can press the moon-block machine with a paw.
  4. Write a blessing card, light a lamp or get a protective charm. After getting your charm, circle it clockwise three times above the incense burner in front of Baosheng Dadi.
  5. On the second floor, pray to Guanyin, Samantabhadra and Manjushri; on the third, to the Medicine Buddha and Ksitigarbha.

Bringing Your Pet

  • Keep your pet on a leash.
  • Indoors, please use a belly band or a diaper.
  • If you'd like to write your pet's details for a blessing, bring their photo, date of birth and address.
  • There is no incense burning, no joss paper and no firecrackers indoors.

Can't Bring Your Pet? You Can Still Pray

Live far away, have a pet who protests the moment the carrier comes out, or a pet in the hospital? Here is what you can do.

Light a lamp online

Choose a lamp here and the temple lights it for your pet. It stays lit for a full year.

Pray on your pet's behalf

Your pet doesn't need to come. Visit the temple yourself, tell the gods your pet's name and how they're doing, and pray for them all the same.
