Legend has it that Baosheng Dadi was born Wu Tao, a renowned physician of the Northern Song dynasty who spent his life healing people.
It is also said that he once removed something stuck in a tiger's throat. The tiger followed him from then on and became the Tiger Lord, which is why, at Cho Yuu Temple, the Black Tiger Lord sits beneath Baosheng Dadi's altar.
You can pray for: smooth treatment · a safe surgery · good health · a long life
A cat in his left arm, a dog under his right hand, and a crowd of little animals at his feet.
Our Baosheng Dadi holds a cat in his left arm and rests his right hand on a dog, keeping both close by his side.
Carved at his feet are a fish, a snake, a turtle, a rabbit, a bird and a little mouse. Pets that aren't cats or dogs are under his protection too.
Our Baosheng Dadi's incense lineage was brought from Ciji Temple in Xuejia, Tainan.
The temple has already offered incense for you. Simply put your palms together and make your wish.
Tell him your name, your pet's name and where you live.
One thing at a time.
A holy answer (one flat side up, one round side up) means yes. A laughing answer means try asking another way; a negative answer means think about it from another angle. Pets can press the moon-block machine with a paw.
After making your offering, hold the charm above the incense burner in front of Baosheng Dadi and circle it clockwise three times. Thank him, then take it home and place it by your entrance or next to your pet's bed.
Our blessing cards come in dog and cat designs, with an offering of NT$150. Write yours at the temple and hang it behind Baosheng Dadi on the first floor, where the gods can see it every day.
Blessing cards are only available at the temple and are not shipped.
Blessings add one more layer of protection alongside modern medicine. If your pet is unwell, please see a vet first.
For travel or a move, the Black Tiger Lord. For anxiety or restless sleep, Guanyin. For long-term treatment, the Medicine Buddha. When a pet has passed away, Ksitigarbha.
